Welcome to our A-Z of dinosaur names - a complete list of 1,535 dinosaurs that have been named so far, from Aachenosaurus all the way through to Zuul. Whether you're hunting for that one obscure dinosaur your kid keeps asking about, looking for inspiration for a school project, or just curious how many of these prehistoric giants palaeontologists have actually identified, you're in the right place.
New dinosaurs are still being discovered all the time. Roughly 50 new species are named every year, often from fossils that have been sitting in museum drawers for decades waiting for someone to notice they don't quite match anything else. We update this list as new finds are announced, so it grows over time.
All of the dinosaurs in this list have their own dedicated page with information about diet, habitat, size, era, and fun facts - these are shown as clickable links.
