Xixiasaurus was a small, intelligent theropod that lived during the Late Cretaceous Period, approximately 89.8 million years ago in what is now central China. This fascinating dinosaur belonged to a group of highly advanced theropods known for their large brains relative to body size and keen intelligence.
Measuring roughly 1.5 metres in length and standing about 60 centimetres tall at the hip, Xixiasaurus was a lightly built predator with long, powerful legs designed for speed and agility. Its most distinctive features included large eyes that provided excellent vision, sharp claws on both its hands and feet, and rows of small, serrated teeth perfect for gripping and tearing prey.
